Angela Clerkin is a Creative Facilitator and a qualified Therapist. You can find out more about her therapy practice by clicking on the link. This website, ClerkinWorks brings together all the different strands of Angela’s innovative facilitation including Improvisation workshops, Creative Writing Workshops, Theatre Making/Directing, Dramaturgy, Open Space Facilitator and Host of World Cafe events. Recently Angela was a Creative Fellow at Leicester University collaborating with Prof John Maltby (Psychology Dept) on a creative writing project for women and non-binary students called This Is Me. She was an Artist of Change at The Albany which includes curating the Festival of Radical Care. She recently ran the Elder Flowers Writing group at Triangle for LGBTQAI+ Over 50s, and Drama and Writing Workshops with Box Office Bears, London Bubble and the Albany. Ongoing projects include Through The Door improvisation workshops produced with Improbable and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. Outside The Frame is an online theatre project (currently in development), Angela is working with Adedamola Bajamo and Improbable. Angela is an Associate Artist with Improbable.
Through The Door is an ongoing series of improvisation workshops for women & non-binary folk. We are aiming to diversify impro to include more PoC/LGBTQ/Disabled people/WC and all the intersections, we want to change it up, empower the players to have agency, to tell their own stories and create new realities. The Creative Facilitator is Angela Clerkin and the Producer is Improbable/Ess Grange. Guest facilitators have included Pauline Mayers, Stella Duffy, Cathy Tyson, Lesley Ewen, Emma Frankland, Jacqui Ong, Jeanefer Jean Charles and Pearl Jordan. It is presented by ClerkinWorks, supported by Improbable, with donations of space by Theatre Deli and Globe Theatre. TTD is unleashing the untold, unknown and unlikely.

The Secret Keeper is a political fairytale about secrecy, collusion and community responsibility – with songs, magpies and a murderous gothic heart. TSK was developed at the National Theatre Studio and produced by ClerkinWorks & Ovalhouse. It opened to great acclaim in October 2017 and was followed by a sell out UK tour.

The Bear, was co-produced with Improbable. The Bear is a mythical murder mystery about the transformative power of anger. It toured 12 UK theatres, selling out at Tobacco Factory, Brighton Fringe, Royal Exchange and the Traverse.
